Almost 100 bicycle lovers from Nanning, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, waved off two riders last Saturday that are travelling around Southeast Asia to promote the protection of the Tibetan antelope.
The young bikers, from Zhejiang Province and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, set out from Lhasa of the Tibet Autonomous Region a month ago, and plan to ride through six Southeast Asian countries.
They will first reach Viet Nam from Guangxi.
The journey will cover 7,000 kilometres and take four months.
They will hand out promotional material in each city they visit to call on locals to end illegal hunting of the rare beast.
